How to use the Scientific Calculator

  1. 1Type an expression using the on-screen keys or your keyboard (e.g. (3+4)×sin(30)).
  2. 2Switch between DEG and RAD mode for trigonometric functions as needed.
  3. 3Press = or Enter to evaluate; your recent results appear in the history panel.
  4. 4Tap a history entry to reuse its result in a new calculation.

Using the scientific calculator

Type expressions naturally with parentheses — for example (3 + 4) × sin(30). Toggle between degrees and radians for trigonometry; degree mode is the default, matching most classroom use. The calculator supports sin, cos, tan and their inverses, natural and base-10 logarithms, powers, square roots, factorials, π and e.

Keyboard input works for everything: digits, + − * / ^ ( ), Enter to evaluate, Backspace to delete and Escape to clear. The previous answer is reusable with the ANS key, making chained calculations fast.

Degrees vs. radians

Trigonometric functions interpret angles in the current mode. sin(30) is 0.5 in degree mode but −0.988 in radian mode — the single most common source of 'wrong' answers. School geometry typically uses degrees; calculus and physics formulas almost always expect radians.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this scientific calculator free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, and it works on phones, tablets and desktops.

Why is sin(30) not 0.5?

You are in radian mode. Switch to DEG mode for angles measured in degrees.

Can I use my keyboard?

Yes — type numbers and operators directly, press Enter to evaluate and Escape to clear.
